Friday Wrap-Up: This Week in B2B Marketing Tips

Happy Friday, all! Here are some of our favorite posts from around the blogosphere this week:

  1. 57 Things you can do right now to improve your website

    That's right, 57 things. Some of these can be involved, but many are simple and rather insightful. Quite a few good ideas in here that you might not have thought of before. Some of my favorites:

    6. Add your phone number to the top of your home page so that people don't have to search for it when using a smart phone or e-tablet device. (Huge, considering most people are opening emails and clicking through to websites from their mobile devices now)

    22. Optimize your site for keywords people actually use in their searches — meaning, those keywords that have traffic volume according to the keyword tool. (One we've employed here since implementing a CMS)

    49. Create a landing page for each of your white papers. Create content that *sells* each white paper rather than leaving people to wonder why they should hand over their contact info.

  2. How to setup and promote your first marketing webinar

    Awesome tips here from Ellie Mirman (@ellieeille) that apply to any B2B webinar production. From preparation to promotion to production, this post will get you up and running in no time. I was surprised to see how well we actually did according to this list when we started our webinar series last year. The important thing to remember is that you have to start somewhere. Your first webinar won't be huge, but they'll steadily grow and become a great lead gen source.

  3. Why inbound marketing is costing you money and what to do about it

    The first part of a series of blog posts from Gary Ambrosino (@garyambrosino), this is a great examination of what we like to call "funnelnomics", or the economics associated with your lead funnel. Gary breaks down the costs associated with growing your funnel, specifically focused on inside sales, and how to grow your funnel at a greater rate than your cost. Excellent stuff.
